The CEO Real Act of Kindness ( RAK) , Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, has said that what drives him in helping humanity is just to put smile on people's face.

This was said at an online Zoom interview session with The Social Watch media on Saturday October 3rd, where he was a guest, also a host to the TSW media, and speaks on the topic" Roles of NGOs in Societal Development.

Attending to the questions, he highlights the general objectives of the RAK Foundation. " Our general objectives is to : quench thirst, inspire change and empower generations. " To provide evidences of working inline with the objectives,  he highlighted some instances.

" We have been working at our own best to quench thirst. This is seen in the economic palliatives program we did in Badagry, where we domicile during the lockdown and attending to some personal needs of individuals"

On inspiring change, we've joined to change the narration of several things in the society we operate. Just last week, we constructed boreholes to some communities.

On empowerment, we've also done many. Just recently we commissioned the first recycling plant in conjunction with Green Janitors. We have also supported in the aspect of education, giving scholarship upto PhD level. These are done to inspire change and empower generations.

On geographical reach of his kindness, he says" we are currently in Badagry. But our kindness has been exercised far beyond Badagry, upto Ikorodu.

Meanwhile, the challenges we face as an NGO is that everybody wants you to solve his problem. Which is practically impossible.

He admonishes everyone to be an agent of social change. He says' the NGOs are to assist the government in where government fails and the people are to assist the NGOs by not making irrelevant or flimsy requests.

When asked about the source of the coinage RAK, he says" the desire to help humanity has been from secondary school. Hence, the name RAK, originates from there among my colleagues.

He concludes that if there would be proliferation of NGOs, well, it will be better for the society. But people establishing NGOs should work inline with their overall objectives and not use the medium to engage in dubious acts. He says they should maintain the principles of : transparency, accountability and integrity.
