African Young Leaders Empowerment Initiative is set to host its Southwest Youth Economic and Security Summit.

The Programme themed: ‘Repositioning The Youth for A Workable Nigeria’ which comes up in Lagos on 29th of July 2021, will serve as a platform to empower Nigeria’s youth with information that will enable them to stand out and succeed in their businesses, careers, and professions especially in response to the current global economic outlook resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The summit will be chaired by Sir Kensington Adebutu and grace by other notable Nigerians who has contributed to the development of the country which include: Chief Akinsanya Sunny Ajose OON as the father of the Day and His Royal Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja 11 as the Royal father of the day.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, Amb. Dele Moses president of African Young Leaders Empowerment Initiative and the convener Southwest Youth Economic and Security Summit declare that the summit will provide a platform for some of the most celebrated policymakers, economic and security thinkers, and corporate leaders to offer personal and professional insights on these pressing concerns. Questions and answers sessions will be held for the participants to engage in discussions on economic planning and governance, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities facing our region and Nigerian business for the youths.

The program will have youth in attendance from across the southwest region.

“Life is being reshaped by major trends and events such as globalization, terrorism, climate change and in recent times COVID-19.

Hence the need for youth to identify their positions, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to enable them to employ available technology to develop and leverage their competencies and stand out."

According to the organizers of the programme, the main scope of the summit is to promote political and social participation of youth at local, regional, and national levels, by developing civic engagement through the design and development of an interactive gamified platform, based on learning and exchange of views and ideas, combining inclusive non-formal education as well as networking and active community engagement.
