LCYDI Chairman talks on Badagry road, during official Working visits
The state executive of Lagos Communities Youth Development Initiative (LCYDI,) has extended their executive working visitations to Badagry Local Government and the two LCDAs - Olorunda and Badagry West
The executives led by the State Chairman, Amb. Akanni Michael were received at the Badagry LG, by the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Yahya Lateef, who also represent his Boss, Executive Chairman of Badagry LG. He talked on the significant of having such a unified body across the 57 LCDAs and the expectations of such.
During their visits to Olorunda LCDA, the Chief of Staff to the Council Boss and Personal Assistant to the Chairman received the team with warmth welcome. Also, the Green Janitors boss, Mr Ashade Abdsalam, entertained the visitors in his office and was given a Humanitarian Award for his tremendous contribution to humanity.
In Badagry West, they were received by Mr. Bashir Yusuf, one of the apex leaders in APC Badagry and Comrade Aladeotan David Sunday, who is the Special Assistant to the chairman on Youth and Sports who also represented the executive chairman.
In the light of David Sunday's vibrant spirit, he was honored with an honorary membership certificate of the LCYDI.
Speaking with The Social Watch, the Chairman showed great concern over the affairs of the road, following his traumatic experience on his way to the area, while pointing out its economic implications.
Amb. Akanni Michael said the road will no doubt have affected the economic fortunes of the area, since no one on just an entertainment tourism would now prefer the area over others which are easily accessible, despite the Tourism potentials.
He adds that the situation on ground, shouldn't be a blame game on which level of government should take the responsibilities or not. " Both the federal and state should work hand in hand to ensure the road is delivered on time, to ease the pains of the users".
He further called on the government to do necessary things, to ensure the rapid completion of the road in order to alleviate the sufferings of the residents of the axis.
The demands of Community Youths in the state remained our major concern as Youth focused Organization said the group Chairman. We submitted the major Resolutions of LCYDI in aftermath of EndSars Protest which was hijacked in 2020, the team are using the working visit to seek stakeholders support for Community Youth Town Hall Meeting. This will proofer solutions and help to manage any related situations in the future.
