ON THE BLACK TUESDAY
Standing on the feet of righteousness.
In the home of security consciousness.
Laced with wrappers of the Green and White,
Chewing the National anthem like gums,
And there come the booming of the guns.
Men were fallen like rotten pawpaws
Chased like lambs in the midst of fox
Bathed in the flowing Ocean of bloods
As they pass on without goodbye words
Heads were scattered
Legs were shattered
Arms were crippled
And faces were crumpled
Screams of agonies were sent home
Man becomes disarray
On that dark night of Tuesday
Flocking in National mourning.
What a day you are!
October 20 2020
You Welcomed brutality
Against protesters of police brutality
In the bubbling Lekki city.
But why did you kill them?
Who ordered those men there?
Was it coincidence that the light went off?
So what happened to the cameras?
Were they the ones who dine with the bombs?
Were they the one who took hostage of the North?
Were they the snatchers of Chibok girls?
Were they the one killing with daggers?
While Ak47 sits on their shoulders?
So why did you kill them?
Only if they were the blowers of the oil pipes,
The ransome collectors in the bushes.
Only if they were the looters of the nation.
Only if they were the perpetrators of corruption.
Then, did they deserve that annihilation
But these guys were as innocent as a dole
But when the gun came,
oh! It was so fierce, furious and ferocious.
A day to always remember.
