Happening Now: LCYDI holds three days retreat for Lagos youth

 The Lagos Community Youth Development Initiative ( LCYDI), is an association for youths across Lagos. It was established to serve as a platform for youth in the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs to discuss the roles of youth in community development and present agenda for youth capacity building in the state.

The three days Retreat, is done annually to prepare the leadership of the organization on the state of planning ahead of new calendar year and retreat participants on individual's roles expected at all organs of the organization. 

The year 2020 Retreat, is currently being held at Ikorodu starting from Friday 25th September to Sunday 27th September. 

In the opening speech, The host also the state chairman, Mr Akanni Michael welcomed everyone: speakers guests and others. He emphasized on the importance of the retreat and admonished youth on the kind of life to live in this century. He said" The world belongs to people who are skilled and innovative. Being graduate, should not be seen as a license to greatness. But being, creative despite possessing different kinds of certificates is an advantage over unskilled co-workers." He advises youth to develop Passion for skill and capacity building, while ignoring social media Swags. 

To have a memorable experience of the retreat, he urges everyone to take the advantage of the facilities available at the venue, engage in the indoor games with colleagues, network with the guests while adhering to Covid-19 guidelines.

It was a great experience and opportunity to be part of this year leadership retreat, on behalf of my self,entire executive members of the LCYDI ikorodu chapter we appreciate the state executives for bringing this year retreat to our LGA and coming up with this innovative idea,also congratulate all committed leaders who came from far and near to attend this year retreat, let us impact positively all we learn to our various communities,let make 2021 leadership retreat bigger and betebe,thank you all

  3. Kudos to the Organizers and leaders, for this is the kind of retreat for the betterment of Lagos State and Nigeria in retrospect because a better Lagos means a better Nigeria.
