The Nigerian Customs Service, in Seme Border , Badagry Lagos, yesterday shot two children: Taye, 10 years and the other 9years, in a sporadic gunshots in the community around 4pm.

The officers was said to have entered the community with their Toyota Hilux Jeep, while their men were gallantly armed , looking as if there had been an information to them about the presence of a contraband goods or the ongoing of an illicit business within the area.

In an interview with The Social Watch news men, a resident, Mr Victor Sisko, who was an eyewitness of the scenerio, explained that the officers were around to halt the ongoing fuel exportation business. After taking away all the fuel of about 30 sacks without interference from anyone, they embarked on straying their bullets which eventually hit the two children playing on the field. One was injured on the spinal cord and the other on the arm and leg. He said gloomily that " it has become a normal life for us in Seme Border, as customs wake up daily and think of who next is to be killed. We don't have anybody who fights for us , we have accepted our fates"

It was learnt that before the children were taken to the hospital, the Divisional Police Officer of the area ,  was informed of the story and he visited the situation. But no one has a detail on the whereabout and the designated offices of these wrongdoers, as they are in thousands in Badagry. The DPO downplayed the act, saying, how on Earth, should an Officer shoot in such manner?

Another resident, Zinsu Abel, berated the action of the officers. He said that it has became perpetual for the officers in Badagry to engage in killings of the indigenes, without any reason. He highlighted some past cases of about eight, while pleading for the media and government to come to their rescue.

The children are in a private hospital in the main town of Badagry, responding to treatments.

Meanwhile, the residents wait in anticipation expecting actions from the Nigeria Police and comptroller of the axis.
